Data Mining to Match Students to Private Schools

The latest trend in technological for students includes using data mining to help parents identify the future plans of their children before sending them to private school.   In a recent Forbes article Private School: The Future of Education, for Good and Ill, the author James Poulos discussed how the struggling public school system requires parents to consider alternate paths to finding funding for private school education.   Due to this concern, many parents choose the private schools system to insure that students meet the requirements to help them be prepared for future college plans. Race to the Top is more like a Slow Drag

If you are a classroom teacher you have heard about Race to the Top for several years. In fact, some states were chosen to split the $4 billion prize, but they aren’t making much progress. There is an annual spending report that has been put up by the US government. The posting claims that there is “no one path to reform.” While many teachers are not lucky enough to be in the states receiving the grants, we all realize that the pressure in these states is tremendous. Being in those schools has to be stressful!
